L’Oreal Visible Lift Blur Foundation First Impression Review

I picked up the L’oreal Visible Lift Blur Foundation at the drugstore recently. This foundation is a part of L’Oreal’s most recent collection, so I thought I’d try it out.

This foundation claims to Instantly blur lines, spots and uneven texture, for younger looking skin that’s touchable smooth and soft. In the collection, they have 12 shades to choose from and they also have concealers included in the line that I really like. Plus it has an SPF of 18 which is always great to have in a foundation.

The consistency of the foundation when I applied it to the back of my hand, felt very thick. I decided that a beauty blender would probably work best with this foundation and I found it to look very natural after application.

Right off the bat, it seemed to blur out my imperfections as it claimed. But after 2 minutes of the foundation on my face, I could still slightly feel it on the surface of my skin.

10 mins after applying it to my face it felt like it set, but I could still feel it on my skin. It had this silicone like feel to it , which was a but different. Even though I could slightly feel it on my skin, I liked that it was still lightweight, looked natural and blurred out my imperfections. For this review I also chose not to use a setting powder or spray just to test out how it would last throughout the day on its own.

Even after taking a flash photo I liked the overall look of it on my skin.

5 hours later, I noticed shininess around my T-zone on this very hot day. It didn’t look very appealing and I think it would have held up better if I initially set the foundation with powder and even blotted throughout the day.

At the end of the day, most of the foundation was still on my face, but oil did seep through. It didn’t seem to work for my oily combination skin very well. But I would have to say I did notice that the foundation stayed put , even though oil did seep through.

About 4 hours in to wearing the foundation was when I first noticed the oiliness begin. Although oil seeped through, it didn’t smear or rub off, even with my babies touching my face all day. There was no signs of streaking which was a pleasant surprise!

I imagine that since this foundation line is geared towards more mature women, that this would work great on mature skin since it tends to be more dry. For those of you with combination skin, this may still work for you if you set your foundation with a powder and/or a spray at initial application and blot throughout the day. I wouldn’t recommend this for someone who has very oily skin because it probably won’t work well for you.

A few things to note , the price point is a little pricey for a drugstore foundation, retailing at around $15-$16 which is on the higher end of  drugstore prices.  What is great about the L’Oreal Visible Lift Blur Foundation is that it has medium coverage that is build-able and stays in place throughout the day without streaking or rubbing off. And as it claims, it blurs out imperfections on your face.
