A great looking cake starts with a great designer. I suggest you do your research of the best wedding cake designers around your area and ask your friends and family for recommendations as well. Keep in mind the type of style of cake you would like and focus on finding cake designers whose specialties match with what you’re looking for. Come prepared with the type of cake design you like. It’s smart to bring photos of your dress and the colors you decide on for your wedding for reference. But in the end trust in the expert to design a cake that will be custom to you and your fiancé.

Time

The best time to start your wedding cake search and order is 3 to 6 months before your wedding. This will give you time to find the perfect designer and a great tasting cake that you really love. Make sure to follow up with your designer a few weeks before the wedding to make sure they still have your order and if there are any last minute adjustments that need to be made.
