Guest List

This is the time to invite those closest to you and celebrate this joyous occasion. Your guest list should consist of  close family, friends and of course your bridal party! If you are throwing this party for someone else, make sure to ask the bride and groom who they would like to be invited!

Venue

An engagement party held at the bride or grooms parents house, a reserved section at a restaurant, a back yard space, or country club are all great venue options for an engagement party. In my opinion, it’s not a matter of where the party is held, as long as you are surrounded by people you love!

Gifts

Although gifts aren’t customary for guests to bring to engagement parties, some may decide to bring them anyway. Make sure to specify in the invitation so there isn’t any confusion for your guests! We decided to give gifts to our guests and to our bridal party for sharing in the occasion and and for being such great people in our lives. If you want to gift your bridal party, it doesn’t have to be anything huge or over your budget. As long as the gift is something that you know they will enjoy or has a personal meaning, it will be a great gift!

Entertainment

We opted for a a DJ( Bamboo Beats) at our engagement party because we wanted to dance the night away with our friends. But if you want to throw something more  intimate or don’t have the budget for a DJ, a great playlist full of your favorite songs or tuned to an online playlist is another great option!

Photos! Photos! Photos!

An obvious but important tip is to take tons of photos! This day, like the wedding day can go by quickly and photos are the best way to look back on this special day. If possible,  find a photographer to catch some great moments you might otherwise miss. A more affordable option would be to ask your guests to take photos and share them.  An easy way to share the photos from this day would be to make a hashtag and ask your guests to use it when posting photos online! This way you and other guests can easily view and save the photos from the party!  Plus you can utilize the hashtag for the wedding day as well!
